Alyeska Vascular Surgery COVID-19 Patient Advisory

Dear valued patients of Alyeska Vascular Surgery:

Alyeska Vascular Surgery (AVS) remains well-informed about the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) or SARS-CoV-2 threat as well as its level of impact on Alaska and our patient population. We find it increasingly important to continue to support Alaska in times of uncertainty especially so when our patients are at risk. Therefore Alyeska Vascular Surgery will continue to see and treat patients as the vascular specialty is deemed critical for our community. As of the date of this memo (3.19.2020), with the support of Alaska’s hospital systems and our own Outpatient Interventional Suite, we are able to support our patients with manageable interruption.

However, as concerns continue to arise with the virus, we suspect the manageability of healthcare will becoming challenging, yet feasible. In this effort AVS has increased its sanitary protocols. We also require any AVS employee whom experience symptoms to be tested and or work remotely in order to further protect our patients. Similarly we encourage all patients to acknowledge the following:

Upon Arrival:

  • Patients are encouraged to inform AVS prior to and day of the appointment if they are experiencing the following symptoms:
    • Fever
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath
  • Inform us of recent domestic or international travel within the last 14 days.
  • Utilize our Sani-stations which are equipped with sanitary products to include optional masks and gloves. Patients experiencing symptoms will be required to wear a masks/gloves during visit.
  • Practice social distancing by sitting 3-6 feet from other patients
